  • Worst night EVER.

    Last night’s chain of events:

    1. Got a severe sinus infection (headache, runny nose, cough, dizziness).

    2. Ate some delicious soup, felt better for about an hour.

    3. Went to bed.

    4. Woke up at 2am needing more tissues, went to bathroom to get tp (no more tissues).

    5. Saw a gigantic monster cockroach run across the sink.

    6. Ran back to bed like a coward, thinking it would NEVER come into my room.

    7. Laid down in sinus infection misery. HEARD CRINKLING SOUND IN MY ROOM.

    8. Sat up, flipped open my phone and shined the light at the floor.

    9. Saw cockroach run towards my bed, jumped up and stood on bed.

    10. SAW COCKROACH RUN ACROSS MY MOTHERF*CKING BED.

    11. Jumped onto the couch, turned on the light, woke up my host-sister screaming.

    12. Host-sister woke up host-mom, who finally found it and killed it, at 3am.

    13. “Slept” with the lights on for the rest of the night (but didn’t actually sleep).

I still don’t know if it was the same cockroach or a different one in my room, and I can’t decide which one I would prefer! If it was the same one, that’s good because it’s dead now. But that means it followed me to my room! If it was a different one, that means there are lots of enormous, creepy, revolting roaches running around in there at night.

On top of all that, my heart hurts. If my bed wasn’t contaminated by disgusting roaches, I would want curl up in it and never get out! In the words of Rose Nylund, “I feel like crawling under the sheets and eating Velveeta, right out of the box!”

Always the optimistic one, I am looking forward to going to Chefchaouan this weekend. I won’t have to sleep in the roach bed for two nights, I get to go on a hike, and my friend just gave me some allergy medicine. Here’s to a good weekend!
